The BIOPLAnet project goal is to promote STEAM by raising awareness about the circular economy, and more specifically problems with plastic. We will also show products done from plastic caps (HDPE plastic) using different techniques.

Zrinka Valetic

Zrinka is biologist by profession and founder of the Institute of entrepreneurial education and innovation. She start Institute to raise awareness and make social impact related to responsible use of the resources around us. After she worked for Ministry of Environmental Protection and Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, she decide to engage to rise awarenes with BIOPLAnet project funded by European Social Fund.

What inspired you to make this project?
As part of Fablab activities in the schools, using PLA looks like promoting plastic. So we decide first to describe what is a bioplastic made from starch, and then how to recycle plastic for new purposes. The intention is primarily educational and to raise awareness about the responsible use of resources.
